On February 20, 2017 local time, China Merchants Group President Li Xiaopeng met with Cai Fang, Vice President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, discussing about promising cooperations and reaching agreements. CMG Executive Vice President Su Xingang, Wang Hong and Director Hu Zheng attended the meeting.

Li Xiaopeng briefly introduced the 145-year history of China Merchants Group whose developing path always bearing national fate and social responsibilities, which set up China Merchants Historic Museum in Shenzhen as a base for Patriotism Education. Cai Fang appreciated the prosperous development of CMG, especially as a sole fruit of national commerce. He came up that CASS could work with CMG to forge a academic institution, mainly focusing on broadcasting Chinese Culture in Hong Kong.
