On May 4, 2017 local time, China Merchants Group President Li Xiaopeng met in Shekou with Mr.Li Jinxiu, Vice Governor of Jilin Province, discussing the construction and development of Northeast Asia Port. China Merchants Group Executive Vice President Hu Jianhua attended the meeting.

Li Xiaopeng welcomed the visit of Li Jinxiu's delegation. "We, Russia government, Jilin Province and CMG,all attached importance on Northeast Asia Port that is a strategically significant hun on the Belt and Road. Let's join hands together to seize such a precious opportunity to make it real", said Li Xiaopeng. Li Jinxiu regarded building port was not only the call on "One Belt and One Road" Initiative, but also the engine of Jilin's development.
