On May 23, 2017 local time, state medias, namely People's Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Guang Ming Daily, Economic Daily News, China Daily, China National Radio, China Central Television, China Radio International, China News Service and China International Publishing Group, interviewed the Chairman Li Jianhong on headquarter China Merchants Tower, focusing on Group’s development in Hong Kong and contributions to Hong Kong. 

Li Jianhong started with the brief introduction of China Merchants Group on its history, organization structures and business performance. "China Merchants Group has always been assuming responsibility for invigorating and stabilizing Hong Kong for many years. So far, Group has 5000 employees in Hong Kong, with majority are locals. Group's headquarter and six subsidiaries headquarter are based on Hong Kong, mainly covering transportation(port, shipping, ship repairing, maritime trade) and finance(banking,securities,insurance), with 586.2 billion total assets at the end of 2016." said Li. Chairman Li also share his views on the opportunities of China Merchants Group on "The Belt and Road" Initiative.
