On July 31, 2017 local time, China Merchants Group(CMG) President Li Xiaopeng met with Zhao Changshan, Chairman of Zhongguancun Development Group(ZDG), exchanging ideas about business development and future cooperation. CMG Executive Vice President Wang Hong attended the meeting.

Li Xiaopeng said that ZDG is the strategic partner of CMG, with escalating cooperations in the recent years, particularly in the case of China Merchants Innovation Institute Beijing and Silicon Valley. "CMG is transforming into three business platforms, namely non-financial industry, financial services and investment and capital operation, from three main business sectors, which strives to participate in national strategies." Li Xiaopeng introduced. CMG hold confidence on ZDG's innovation resources as well as platforms, and because of this, two sides are expected to work closely in wider range of cooperations.
