On August 8, 2017 local time, The Unveiling Ceremony of Shantou China Merchants Port was held. China Merchants Group(CMG) President Li Xiaopeng and Shantou Municipality Party Secretary-General Chen Liangxian unveiled this joint venture. CMG Executive Vice President Sun Chengming and Shantou Municipality Party Deputy Secretary-General Zheng Jiange respectively delivered speech.

Before the ceremony, Li Xiaopeng exchanged in-depth opinions with Shantou governments. Li Xiaopeng looked forward to successfully duplicate "Shekou" Business Model in Shantou through the joint venture, Shantou China Merchants Port, so as to make more contributions to Shantou’s economy and society.
