On August 24, 2017 local time, China Merchants Group(CMG) President Li Xiaopeng meets in Hong Kong with Mahinda Samarasinghe, Minister of Ports and Shipping of Sri Lanka, exchanging ideas about about further promoting cooperations in Hambantota Port. CMG Executive Vice President Hu Jianhua attends the meeting.

Li Xiaopeng welcomes the visit of Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe and expresses gratitudes to his supports on CMG business in Sri Lanka. He introduces that CMG Port net has extends to 20 countries and districts, with capacity to facilitate synergies between CICT and Hambantota Port.
