CMG's emergency working group of the prevention and control of COVID-19 holds 12th meeting
2020-04-01
On April 1, China Merchants Group's emergency working group of the prevention and control of COVID-19 held the twelfth meeting. The meeting conveyed the instructions recently issued by the higher authorities. Group Chairman Li Jianhong, head of the emergency working group, presided over the meeting. Group President Hu Jianhua, deputy head of the emergency working group, as well as the Group's leading body (also members of the working group), attended the meeting either in person or through videoconferencing.
The meeting heard the report given by the emergency working group's office on the recent anti-epidemic work. The meeting pointed out that the Group took epidemic prevention and control as the top priority for the first quarter and yielded fruitful outcomes. At present, the spread of COVID-19 globally far exceeds expectations. The impact brought by the epidemic is hard to estimate, and the extreme risks of rapid economic recession are becoming increasingly apparent. At such a time, it is even more pivotal to take a holistic perspective and bear in mind the overall interests. In general, we must profoundly grasp "two uncertainties": first, the uncertainty of the long-term persistence of COVID-19, and second, the uncertainty of the magnitude and path of the world economic recession under the impact of the epidemic. In the face of the unprecedented risks of uncertainties, we must further enhance the magnitude of understanding and measures. Prepare for the worst, exert the utmost efforts and hope for the best. In addition, Mainland units must put development at the prominent position, and overseas units must make overall plans for both epidemic prevention and control as well as production and operation. The meeting put forward three requirements: first, the resumption of work and production needs to show effectiveness; second, overseas prevention and control should aim for zero omissions; third, leading cadres must establish a strong awareness of the potential crisis.
