From September 8th to 10th, Group Chairman Miao Jianmin investigated Weining County's development of education, medical care and industries, advancing Weining to resolutely win the battle against poverty and continue to consolidate the results of poverty alleviation. Since 2003, Weining has officially started to receive poverty alleviation assistance from China Merchants Group. Over the past 17 years, China Merchants Group has invested nearly 460 million yuan of poverty alleviation funds in Weining, implemented 126 poverty alleviation projects, dispatched 11 cadres to take up provisional posts at the Weining County and helped 303,000 people get rid of poverty. As of August this year, the remaining impoverished people in Weining County have all reached the poverty eradication standard.
