On October 14, Group Chairman Miao Jianmin met with Zheng Renhao, Party Secretary of Zhanjiang and Director of the Standing Committee of the Zhanjiang Municipal People's Congress, and Zeng Jinze, Deputy Secretary of Zhanjiang Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Zhanjiang Government. In the first half of this year, the Group's total assets exceeded 10 trillion yuan, with operating income bucking the trend of the global slowdown. He emphasised that China Merchants Group and Zhanjiang have maintained a favourable cooperative relationship. With the joint efforts of both parties, Zhanjiang Port Group has achieved a leap in port status, the scale of the group and the influence of regional logistics channels. In the future, China Merchants Group will continue to provide support for the high-quality development of Zhanjiang. Zheng Renhao and Zeng Jinze expressed the hope that China Merchants Group will continue to support Zhanjiang's economic growth and port construction vigorously.
