From January 4 to 5, Group Chairman Miao Jianmin investigated China Merchants Group's subsidiaries in Zhanjiang city and met with Zheng Renhao, Party Secretary of Zhanjiang, and Zeng Jinze, Mayor of Zhanjiang. Executive Vice President Deng Renjie participated in the investigation.

Miao Jianmin said that China Merchants Group attached great importance to the development of cooperation with Zhanjiang. The next step would be to strengthen and accelerate cooperation in related industries based on a certain investment scale, to build Zhanjiang Port into a strong regional port, and to fully support subsidiaries' development in Zhanjiang, in order to better serve the high-quality development of Zhanjiang's economy and society. Zheng Renhao pointed out that Zhanjiang was making every effort to build itself into a provincial sub-centre, accelerate the creation of an important development force for a modern coastal economic belt, and unswervingly promote cooperation with China Merchants Group in the entire industrial chain.
