China Merchants Group President Mr. Li Xiaopeng met with the CEO of Orient Overseas Container Line(OOCL) Mr. Dong Lijun on 19 July in Hong Kong. First, Mr. Li Xiaopeng appreciated the support from OOCL, which shares historical connections with CMG. Then, he introduced that the revenue of China Merchants Energy Shipping CO., LTD has increased for the first half of 2016, even though the depression of global shipping industries laid a negative impact on the main ports of China.

Besides, Mr. Li Xiaopeng pointed out OOCL can enhance the cooperation with CMG in terms of shipping, port investment and operating, because of the favorable port resources of OOCL in America as well as the common areas between the shipping line of OOCL and the layout of “One Road and One Belt”.

Mr. Dong Lijun said that the main cooperation between CMG and OOCL was the container business of SCT, reaching 6 million containers yearly. He introduced the adjustment of layout in shipping alliance on OOCL side, responding to the challenge of shipping industry.
