On August 31, 2016 local time, CMG Chairman Li Jianhong met in Hong Kong with Weng Mengyong, President of China Highway＆Transportation Society and Liu Wenjie, Vice President of China Highway＆Transportation Society.

Li Jianhong welcomed the visit of President of China Highway＆Transportation Society and expressed gratitude to the support of Weng Mengyong when he served as Vice Minister of Transport of the People’s Republic of China. He introduced the information about operations and reconstruction in highways sectors of CMG. Currently, the network of China Merchants Highway has covered 18 provinces,autonomous regions and Municipalities. The total investing mileage of charged highways and the controlled mileage by CMG respectively reached to 8147 and 1872 kilometers,which ranked No.1 in China. After the founding ceremony of China Merchants Expressway Network＆Technology Holdings Co. Ltd, the whole industry chain from design and construction to operation and investment has been built. Li Jianhong also pointed out that CMG reconstructed internally and externally in order to produce more profits, which formed the market-based reform. For instance, the successful reorganization between CMSK and China Merchants Real Estate as well as CMG and Sinotrans-CSC.

Weng Mengyong appreciated the robust performance of CMG even in the face of mounting downward economic pressure, especially the scientific structures,steady growth and sustainable development. He also said China Merchants Highways was the key member of China Highway＆Transportation Society. Their academic performance,technological degrees and management abilities should be in line with CMG. Weng Mengyong sent the wish to them to become internationally competitive.
