On October 18, 2016 local time, China Merchants Group President Li Xiaopeng meets in Shenzhen with Yury Petrovich Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, exchanging ideas about the opportunities and challenging of developing the free port in Vladivostok. After the introduction of main business sectors, he emphasizes the globally strategic layout of port business. Currently, our owns 35 ports operating among 18 countries and districts. The total throughout of ports in 2015 reached 84 million TEU, which ranks the second in the world. The layout of CMG global port network is in line with national strategy"The Belt and The Road", which can strongly contribute the development of Far Eastern Federal District with comprehensive experience.

Deputy Prime Minister Yury Petrovich Trutnev says that the development of Far Eastern Federal District has been the national policy issued by Vladimir Putin, President of Russia Federation. Russia government is researching the economic development model of China, Korea and Malaysia so as to develop Far Eastern Federal District. President Putin announces a series of policies to attract and regulations to protect investors. The purpose of the visit to CMG is to learn form the experience in port industry. The key of developing far east and free port of Vladivostok is the infrastructure in port and logistics. They invite CMG to pay a field trip to Vladivostok where russia government will offer favorable policies to investors. He strongly believes that Vladivostok will be a significant point of global logistics transport.
