On February 10, 2017 local time, China Merchants Group President Li Xiaopeng met in Shekou with Richard D. Fain, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises, exchanging ideas about expansion of China's southern cruise market. CMG Executive Vice President Sun Chengming attended the meeting. 

Li Xiaopeng said China Merchants Group, which originated from shipping industry, held promising attitudes about cruise industry under the background of consumption's leading role on economy. Richard D. Fain attached importance on the China's southern cruise market and was impressed by the well-rounded environment of prince bay homeport. After this visit, he was more determined to take up the slack of cruise market with China Merchants Group.
