On April 12, 2017 local time, China Merchants Group President Li Xiaopeng met in Hong Kong with Liu Qitao, Chairman of China Communications Construction Company, exchanging opinions about potential cooperations. China Merchants Group Executive Vice President Hu Jianhua joined the meeting.

"During my visit in Shantou, I saw many quality projects of China Communications Construction Company. As China Communications Construction Company expertises in the constructions of port and related infrastructures, we should work together not only in expanding overseas markets, but also in domestic and international toll road projects", said Mr. Li Xiaopeng. Liu Qitao favored the suggestions Mr Li made and complemented China Communications Construction Company constructed and invested above 4000 kilometers domestic toll roads, which embodied many potential cooperations.
