On June 29, 2017 local time, The Signing Ceremony of Contribution to Global Immunization Program between China Merchants Charitable Foundation(CMCF) and Gavi was held in Beijing, in which Group President and CMCF Vice Chairman Li Xiaopeng signed with Gavi CEO Dr.Seth Berkley.

The Agreement marked China Merchants Group(CMG) as the first partner of Gavi in Asia-pacific region. In the follow-up, CMG will contribute $500,000 to Gavi though CMCF in attempt to provide children within and below five-year old free access to vaccination mainly in deprived countries such as Djibouti,Togo, Tanzania, Kenya and etc..

Before the ceremony, two sides had a fruitful discussion. "China Merchants Group expands overseas business to 43 countries and regions among five continents, aiming at not only growing their businesses but also shouldering social responsibilities. We are willing to mobilize our diversified resources in finance, logistics, cold chain and et. to work closely with partners, like Gavi, to make technology fruits benefit human-being." said Li Xiaopeng.
