2020-02-06

On February 5, China Merchants Group's emergency working group of the prevention and control of pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus held the fourth meeting, immediately after attending the video conference held by the SASAC on strengthening the prevention and control of novel coronavirus in SOEs. Li Jianhong, Chairman of China Merchants Group, head of the Group's emergency working group, made full deployment concerning the Group's prevention and control tasks. Hu Jianhua, President of China Merchants Group, deputy head of the emergency working group, conveyed the essential instructions and requirements from the SASAC. The Group's leading body (also members of the emergency working group) attended the meeting either in person or through video conferencing.

Li Jianhong urged that CMG should further contribute to this battle against the epidemic. First, the operation of all the means of transportation required by the government and the Ministry of Transport should be ensured. Second, Sinotrans should assure the significant tasks assigned by the NDRC are adequately performed. Third, appropriate measures should be adopted in response to the quarantine policy announced by the Hong Kong SAR Government on February 5. Fourth, the allocation of supportive materials should be conducted reasonably. The overseas procurement forces need to be further reinforced to support the ongoing shortage of epidemic prevention materials nationwide as well as within the Group. CMG should contribute to this battle against the epidemic.
