On February 26, China Merchants Group held a video conference on promoting the prevention and control of novel coronavirus pneumonia and the resumption of work and production. Group Chairman Li Jianhong delivered a speech. Group President, Hu Jianhua presided over the meeting. The main meeting venue was set at the Group's headquarter with 23 branch venues set at various locations. More than 200 participants attended the meeting, including the leading body of the Group, the heads of headquarter departments and the leading bodies of secondary subsidiaries and China Merchants Bank.

Regarding the Group's steady and orderly advancement of epidemic prevention and control as well as work and production resumption from the previous stage, full recognition was given by Li jianhong. He pointed out that the entire Group has conducted timely research and deployment and effectively strengthened organizational leadership; endeavoured to overcome difficulties in providing full support to epidemic prevention and control in Hubei, especially Wuhan, with 1,353,900 pieces of anti-epidemic materials, including masks and goggles, sent to Hubei, and a total of 6513.94 cubic metres, 3078.26 tons of anti-epidemic materials shipped with the Group's free logistics services; and showed the responsibility of being a state-owned enterprise by taking various measures to help prevent and control the epidemic. The Group's total donation of money and materials has reached nearly RMB 300 million, ranked first among all SOEs. As of February 25, a total of 236,000 employees have resumed work. Li Jianhong also required that all units should maintain endurance and continue to make unremitting efforts in epidemic prevention and control work, strengthen resolve and firmly hold onto the annual goals, boost vitality and carry on deepening reform and innovation, and improve execution and persist with real practice and tangible outcomes.

While summarizing the meeting, Hu Jianhua emphasized that the entire Group should thoroughly study, comprehend and earnestly implement the spirit of the meeting. He further required that all units should unify thoughts and strengthen responsibilities under higher authorities' instructions and the Group's requirements, to win the blocking battle of epidemic prevention and control resolutely, the positional battle of work and production resumption and the uphill battle of annual goals.
