On February 28, Group President Hu Jianhua inspected China Merchants Industry's Ma Chau Island base, instructing epidemic prevention and control as well as work and production resumption. Executive Vice President Wang Cuijun attended the inspection.

Hu Jianhua heard a report given by Hu Xianfu, General Manager of China Merchants Industry, on the health and safety of employees during the outbreak, epidemic prevention measures, the status of work and production resumption of various production units, and production safety. He also paid a site visit to the No.1 berth to inspect the vessel that was under repair. Full recognition was given by him to staff at all levels for the efforts made for anti-epidemic. He said that, in the face of the dual pressure of epidemic prevention and resumption of production, it was not an easy task for China Merchants Industry to maintain zero cases in the context of widely distributed bases and more than 20,000 staff. He stressed that China Merchants Industry should consolidate the achievements at this stage, continue to maintain excellent work performance, and unify the thoughts and strengthen the confidence to resolutely win the blocking battle of epidemic prevention and control, the positional battle of work and production resumption and the uphill battle of annual goals.
