On March 12, Group President Hu Jianhua met with Xu Qin, Deputy Party Secretary and Governor of Hebei in Xiongan New Area. Executive Vice President Wang Cuijun participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Xu Qin heard a report on China Merchants Group's investment in Hebei and participation in the construction of Xiongan New Area. He expressed appreciation and recognition to China Merchants Group for its contribution to the development of Hebei Province and Xiongan New Area. Xu Qin pointed out that China Merchants Group is an influential enterprise with substantial strengths and diversified business and expected that China Merchants Group would continue to give play to its advantages and help build Xiongan into a high-standard and high-quality district. Meanwhile, fully advance the strategic cooperation with Hebei Province.

Hu Jianhua conveyed his gratitude to Hebei Provincial Government and Xiongan New Area for their concern and support to the Group's projects in Xiongan, also to Governor Xu Qin in particular, who has always been supportive to the development of China Merchants Group. Hu Jianhua expressed that China Merchants Group had attached great importance to the construction of Xiongan New Area. Led by Group Chairman Li Jianhong in April of 2017, China Merchants Group was the very first state-owned enterprise to inspect Xiongan after the decision to establish Xiongan New Area was announced. The Group also set up the Xiongan leading group and relevant organizations timely to comprehensively coordinate the development of the Group's businesses in Xiongan. Last year, the Group and Hebei Provincial Government signed a strategic agreement to further the cooperation. The two sides will surely become closer and closer and will make more exceptional contributions to the common cause and national development. On the morning of March 12, Hu Jianhua also visited the Xiongan planning exhibition hall and participated in "the symposium of state-owned enterprise's participation in the development and construction of Hebei Xiongan New Area", being the first invited speaker to deliver a speech.
