On March 18, China Merchants Group held a meeting on securing a decisive victory in poverty alleviation. The meeting conveyed and studied the speeches and instructions of the higher authorities on securing a decisive victory in poverty alleviation, and further deployed tasks for the next stage. Group Chairman, Li Jianhong, head of the Group's poverty alleviation leading Group, presided over the meeting. Group President, Hu Jianhua, deputy head of the Group's poverty alleviation leading Group, as well as the Group's leading body, attended the meeting either in person or through video conferencing.

The meeting pointed out that, among the Group's fixed-point poverty alleviation counties, Weining county in Guizhou, Yecheng county and Shachen county in Xinjiang have not been lifted out of poverty, which remains a formidable task. The meeting specified three requirements for the tasks ahead. First, we must implement the responsibilities to win the concluding battle against poverty resolutely. The poverty alleviation working group should draw up a reverse schedule, refine measures and ensure job security. Second, we must strengthen measures to win the resistance battle against poverty resolutely. The working group's general office should launch campaigns to tackle poverty through consumption, and all units within the Group should increase the purchase of poverty alleviation products. Third, we must focus on significant poverty alleviation tasks and strive to win a comprehensive victory in the battle against poverty. Weining, Yecheng and Shache counties are the focus of the Group's poverty alleviation. Based on their actual needs for poverty alleviation and industrial development, the Group should assist the three counties to shake off poverty on schedule by giving full play to the Group's comprehensive advantages.
