China Merchants Group attaches great importance to the prevention and control of epidemic overseas with early deployment. Twice during the Group's COVID-19 emergency working group meetings, Li Jianhong, Group Chairman and head of the emergency working group, highlighted that "imported cases prevention" and anti-epidemic of overseas units are the two most pressing and pivotal tasks at this stage. Hu Jianhua, Group President and deputy head of the emergency working group, emphasized that the battle against the outbreak abroad has only just begun and all relevant secondary subsidiaries must assume the primary responsibilities. China Merchants Group's overseas business centralizes in sectors of port, logistics, shipping and industrial park. On March 22, the Group issued a document on further strengthening anti-epidemic measures for overseas projects, making detailed requirements for secondary subsidiaries and overseas units.

On March 14, China Merchants Port held a teleconference on overseas epidemic prevention and control. In consideration of the time difference, the teleconference was arranged at 10 pm. The meeting heard reports on the various overseas units' local epidemic situation and anti-epidemic measures. China Merchants Port required that all overseas units should actively undertake domestic social responsibilities, share effective anti-epidemic measures with local institutions and provide the necessary support to partners and clients.

The Group's shipping business spans the globe. Facing the rapidly evolving situation of COVID-19 abroad, the fleets of China Merchants Energy Shipping have strictly implemented the epidemic prevention instructions and gradually shifted the focus of epidemic prevention to "imported cases prevention". So far, the fleets have been operating stably and self-owned crew members offshore have maintained "zero infection".

In response to the evolving situation of epidemic globally, especially in Europe, China-Belarus Industrial Park has maintained close contact with the Chinese Embassy in Belarus, the Belarusian healthcare authorities and local hospitals regarding contingency plans and regular reporting. The Industrial Park Development Company has examined the epidemic situation cautiously and adopted various measures to reduce risks accordingly. An epidemic prevention and control group composed of Chinese and Belarusian management and employees was jointly established with the China-Belarus Industrial Park Management Committee. The Company was also in close cooperation with organizations in the Park such as Chinese-funded enterprises, construction units and service providers. So far, there have not been any known cases reported in the Park.
