On March 22, the city of Ravenna in Italy sent a request to China Merchants Group about assisting local medical institutions with epidemic prevention materials. Upon receiving the request, the Group attached great importance to the matter. Group Chairman Li Jianhong immediately made an instruction to urge a quick response. China Merchants Charitable Foundation promptly confirmed the actual demand through China Merchants Industry's branch in Italy, simultaneously validated the procurement and transportation channels with the help of the Group's healthcare sector as well as Sinotrans respectively. A working team was quickly formed between a few relevant business sectors. A total of 58,000 pieces of epidemic prevention materials were successfully assembled and sent off within a short time frame.

On March 22, the Foundation placed orders for the procurement of donated materials. On March 23, the materials were shipped from Changchun, Jinhua, Nanjing and Shanghai, and arrived at the warehouse in Hangzhou successively. Meanwhile, Sinotrans cross-border e-commerce reserved the earliest possible air charter space. On March 24, all the materials ordered arrived at the Sinotrans cross-border e-commerce Hangzhou warehouse. The working team confirmed the customs clearance plan upon arrival. March 25, 14:47 (Beijing Time), the flight loaded with the 58,000 pieces of disposable surgical masks, N95 masks, protective clothing and goggles took off from Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport. The materials were expected to transfer at Liege Airport, Belgium at 13:50 on March 25 local time.

After several days of unremitting efforts and intensive planning by the working team, the donated materials were gathered and sent off within merely three days, which has once again demonstrated China Merchants Group's high levels of work efficiency. The Group has also accumulated experience for subsequent provision of epidemic prevention materials to other relevant overseas countries.
