On April 8, China Merchants Group's emergency working group of the prevention and control of COVID-19 held the thirteenth meeting. The meeting conveyed the instructions recently issued by higher authorities. Group Chairman Li Jianhong, head of the emergency working group, presided over the meeting. Group President Hu Jianhua, deputy head of the emergency working group, as well as the Group's leading body (also members of the working group), attended the meeting through videoconferencing.

The meeting heard the report given by the working group's office on recent anti-epidemic work. The meeting put forward three requirements. First, remain clear-headed in thinking and fully understand the long-term, complex and onerous nature of epidemic prevention and control; Second, be more focused and specific on epidemic prevention and control, especially on overseas units; Third, be more pragmatic in resuming work and production as well as accomplishing the goals for the year, and firmly grasp the pace of the various tasks throughout the year. In addition, all units must strengthen the confidence in defeating the epidemic and determination to complete the year's tasks, turn pressure into motivation and turn crises into opportunities. Also, conduct careful analysis on the current situation and trends so as to set mission objectives of the second and third quarters of the Group and the secondary subsidiaries more pragmatically, and come up with targeted measures to encourage and support each unit in improving quality and efficiency in work recovery.
