On April 10, Group President Hu Jianhua met with Chen Shaowang, the acting Mayor of Dalian. Executive Vice President, Wang Cuijun and, Chief Digital Officer, Director of Financial Business Division, Zhang Jian attended the meeting.

Hu Jianhua congratulated Chen Shaowang on his resumption of office, outlined China Merchants Group's background and its business development in Dalian, and reviewed the integration of Liaoning Port. He said that Liaoning Port serves as China Merchants Group's homeport in the North. With the strong support of the Dalian municipal government, it achieved favourable operating results in 2019 and made positive contributions to the economic and social development in the region. He hoped that Dalian municipal government would further the cooperation with China Merchants Group, jointly promote the development and construction of Taiping Bay and the creation of Dalian Northeast Asia International Shipping centre, and open new prospects of win-win development between central SOEs and local governments.

Chen Shaowang expressed his gratitude for the contributions and efforts made by China Merchants Group in promoting regional development. He also hoped that the two parties could cooperate in more fields and CMG would inject more energy into the economic and social development in the region. In this process, the Dalian municipal government will surely actively coordinate, provide corresponding services and set up a favourable platform for CMG's investment.
