In recent days, Member of the Political Bureau of the LPRP Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone paid a site visit to Vientiane Saysettha Development Zone operated by China Merchants Port for an inspection on epidemic prevention and control.

Sonexay Siphandone learned about the deployment of epidemic prevention and control work, safety precautions, preparation of epidemic prevention materials and contingency plans. He emphasized that the Development Zone should put the safety and health of employees as the top priorities and strictly follow the requirements of the Lao government to set up collective prevention and control mechanisms and ensure the comprehensive sanitation and disinfection in public places and the supply of emergency materials. Before the resumption of work, the Development Zone has already established an epidemic prevention and control team based on relevant requirements, formulated a prevention and control mechanism and closely monitored the health of own employees as well as employees of enterprises stationing inside the Development Zone.
