On April 17, Group President Hu Jianhua met with Du Peng, Ping An Group Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Executive Vice Director of smart city development commission. Executive Vice President, Wang Cuijun and, Chief Digital Officer, Director of Financial Business Division, Zhang Jian attended the meeting.

Hu Jianhua pointed out that both parties are mega conglomerates that have grown over the 40 years of reform and opening-up, and in-depth exchanges can help complement each other. He added that the international political and economic situation at present is undergoing profound changes. With the advent of the intelligent era, the traditional industry sectors of China Merchants Group need to be transformed and upgraded, to which the future smart city and smart industrial park cooperation between the two parties come as a comprehensive solution. The cooperation between the two parties can form patented products and serve national strategies in China Merchants Group's overseas projects. Du Peng thanked China Merchants Group for the warm reception, introduced the achievements and experiences of Ping An Group in the construction of smart cities and proposed relevant cooperation intentions.
