On April 17th, the 300,000 USD worth of anti-epidemic materials donated by China Merchants Group to the Belarusian government, including 10,000 pulse oximeters and 30,000 high-grade N95 masks, arrived at Minsk Airport in Belarus together with other Chinese aid.
Between the end of March and the beginning of April, the Chinese Embassy in Belarus and the Belarusian Ambassador Snopkov to China wrote to Group Chairman Li Jianhong respectively, hoping that China Merchants Group could assist in anti-epidemic materials and corresponding logistics services. Upon receipt of the letters, Li Jianhong made prompt instructions on relevant work. He further pointed out that, during the most challenging time of our fight against the outbreak in January, Belarus, as China's all-weather strategic cooperative partner, took the lead to send a special flight to support China, and in February it again transported urgently needed supplies to China with extra special flights. Recently, the epidemic in Belarus has shown rapid growth. As a shareholder of China-Belarus Industrial Park and a Chinese-funded enterprise that has established a favourable cooperative partnership with Belarus, China Merchants Group is incumbent on supporting Belarus in its fight against the epidemic. Li Jianhong also quoted the poetry of the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Jiuling, "True friends feel close even when they are thousands of miles apart.", expressing the friendship between the two sides.
