On April 3, the Belarusian Ambassador Snopkov to China wrote to Group Chairman Li Jianhong, hoping that China Merchants Group could assist in the logistics services of Belarusian anti-epidemic materials. Upon receipt of the letter, Chairman Li Jianhong made prompt instructions on relevant work. On April 4, the Group's Transport and Logistics Division, Sinotrans and CMG China-Belarus quickly established a special emergency support team to advance the transportation of Belarus' epidemic prevention materials in an orderly manner.
Three batches of Chinese aid materials, including 19 tons on April 17, 77 tons on April 26 and 15 tons on April 13, were delivered to Minsk with the fastest speed, which contain 300,000 USD worth of pulse oximeters and high-grade N95 masks.
Sinotrans responded quickly and fulfilled its commitments with practical actions, which fully demonstrates its responsibility and speed as a logistics SOE. At the material handover ceremony, the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese government, China Merchants Group and other Chinese-funded enterprises for their donations. The Chinese Embassy in Belarus also sent letters of thanks to China Merchants Group and the subsidiary Sinotrans respectively.
