On June 8, Group President Hu Jianhua met with Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Governor of Sichuan Province. The two sides exchanged views on promoting and deepening relevant cooperation.

Yin Li expressed his gratitude to Hu Jianhua for attending the construction commencement ceremony of Sichuan province service industry "4+6" industrial projects and China Merchants Group's western headquarters and urban comprehensive development and operation projects start-up activity. He pointed out that the investment of China Merchants Group was of considerable significance to Sichuan. Sichuan welcomes China Merchants Group to increase investment further, introduce advanced management concepts and promote cooperation in all directions. Hu Jianhua thanked Sichuan government for the care and support for China Merchants Group all along and expressed that China Merchants Group will invest 30 billion yuan in integrating industrial resources in the western region and establishing the Group's western headquarters in the Tianfu central business district. China Merchants Group will continue to increase its investment in Sichuan, support Sichuan's economic and social construction with concrete actions, and make due contributions to the formation of a new pattern for the development of the western region.

During his stay in Chengdu, Hu Jianhua also met with Li Yunze, Deputy Governor of Sichuan Province, and Luo Qiang, Deputy Secretary of Chengdu Party Committee and Mayor of Chengdu, investigated projects such as the Tianfu New Area Planning Exhibition Hall and extended gratitude to employees who took the lead in work resumption during epidemic prevention.
