On July 12, China Merchants Group's emergency working group of the prevention and control of COVID-19 held the twenty-third meeting. The meeting reviewed and approved the adjustment of the emergency working group and announced Group Chairman Miao Jianmin as the head of the new emergency working group. Group Chairman Miao Jianmin presided over the meeting. Group President Hu Jianhua, deputy head of the emergency working group, and members of the emergency working group attended the meeting.

The meeting heard the report given by the emergency working group's office on recent epidemic prevention and control as well as work and production resumption. The meeting pointed out that, overall, the Group's leadership mechanism and working mechanism responding to COVID-19 have been effective. The prevention and control work has been relatively robust, and the resumption of work and production has been fully on track. The meeting put forward three requirements. First, pay close attention to critical areas. At present, the key is to focus on abroad and Hong Kong; Second, pay close attention to the physical and mental health of employees; Third, pay close attention to the economic downturn. The overall judgment of the current situation is that the economy is sinking and risks are rising. Until there is a turning point in the epidemic, the impact has not yet reached its peak, and the bottom of the global economy is likely to be delayed from the second quarter to the third quarter or even the fourth quarter. All units must make full efforts to resume work, strive to achieve this year's performance goals, establish bottom-line and dialectical approaches to thinking, and foster new opportunities in crises and create new prospects in the face of changing circumstances
