On October 14, after attending the 40th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Hao Peng, Party Secretary of the CPC Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and Chairman of SASAC, investigated China Merchants Bank and learnt about its development history, strategy transformation and business development. Miao Jianmin, Chairman of China Merchants Group and China Merchants Bank, Hong Xiaoyuan, Assistant President of China Merchants Group, and Tian Huiyu, President of China Merchants Bank, attended the investigation.

Hao Peng fully recognised the business management model of China Merchants Bank that China Merchants Bank ran the bank as if it was an enterprise, with bankers managing the bank. He said that China Merchants Bank had more than 100 million retail customers. The analysis of customer's big data could well provide an essential reference for the macro decision-making of relevant central departments. He hoped that China Merchants Bank would continue to lead the trend in financial and technological innovation. Miao Jianmin said that China Merchants Bank would further increase its support for the reform of the real economy and state-owned enterprises, and serve the reform and development of the national economy through its own reform and transformation.
