On January 11, Group President Hu Jianhua met with Zhao Shaolian, member of the Standing Committee of the Huanggang Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Qichun County Committee of Hubei Province. Executive Vice President Li Baian and Assistant President Hong Xiaoyuan participated in the meeting.

Hu Jianhua said that, with the strong support of Qichun County, China Merchants Group's poverty elevation work had achieved satisfactory results. China Merchants Group would continue to support Qichun to build a more robust healthcare industry and promote the effective connection between poverty alleviation and rural revitalisation. Zhao Shaolian said that China Merchants Group's strong support to Qichun since 2012 had driven millions of people to achieve moderate prosperity. Qichun County hoped that China Merchants Group would stay steady contact with Qichun, deepen cooperation in special industries and social governance, and jointly explore effective rural revitalisation models to help Qichun accelerate its goal of building a modern medium-sized city.
