On June 21, Jinling Shipyard of China Merchants Industry held the naming and delivery ceremony for the second 9,200-CEU dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) "BYD XI'AN" in Yizheng, Jiangsu.
The BYD 9,200-CEU PCTC has an overall length of 219.9 meters, a beam of 37.7 meters, a service speed of 19 knots, and 16 decks. As a new-generation dual-fuel PCTC, the vessel adopts an LNG/marine diesel oil dual-fuel propulsion system that complies with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase 3 requirements and Tier III NOx emission standards. It features a battery hybrid power system with shaft generator, energy-saving devices, as well as advanced emission control technologies including selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems to meet the most stringent NOx emission requirements. Furthermore, the vessel is equipped with a high-voltage shore connection (HVSC) system, enabling zero carbon emissions during cargo operations in port.
