CMG Chairman Miao Jianmin Visits Finland and Denmark

From June 20 to 27, Miao Jianmin, Chairman of China Merchants Group (CMG), visited Finland and Denmark and met with key partners and government officials.
Miao Jianmin held talks with Wang Tongqing, Chinese Ambassador to Finland, and Wang Xuefeng, Chinese Ambassador to Denmark, expressing gratitude for their support and seeking continued guidance for CMG’s European business expansion.
In Finland, Miao visited the ro-ro terminal of Finnlines, a subsidiary of Grimaldi Group—an important partner of China Merchants Industry (CMI). During discussions with Emanuele Grimaldi, Managing Director of Grimaldi Group, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration.
In Denmark, Miao met with Brian Adrian Wessel, Director of the Danish Maritime Authority, to exchange views on industry trends. He also engaged with David Loosley, Secretary General & CEO of BIMCO (Baltic and International Maritime Council), proposing deeper cooperation in standard contracts and joint efforts to elevate Hong Kong’s global shipping influence through events like the World Maritime Merchants Forum.
Miao also toured the Hempel Foundation and its coatings laboratory, discussing future collaboration with CEO Michael Hansen. Meetings with A.P. Moller-Maersk CEO Vincent Clerc and Celsius founder & Chairman Jeppe Jensen focused on expanding partnerships in ship repair, green retrofitting, and long-term business ties. At Everllence, Miao visited its diesel engine museum and discussed resource-sharing opportunities with Senior Vice President Bjarne Foldager to advance smart, green, and high-end shipping development.
