On the afternoon of June 30, the Sham Shui Po East Community Living Room, supported by China Merchants Group (CMG) with venue provision and construction funding, and operated by Pok Oi Hospital, held its opening ceremony in Hong Kong.

Mr. Chan Kwok-ki, Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government, noted that the Community Living Room initiative is a targeted poverty alleviation project focusing on supporting subdivided flat households. Since its launch in late 2023, seven Community Living Rooms have been established across Hong Kong, with Sham Shui Po East being the seventh. It is expected to serve at least 500 subdivided flat households, benefiting around 80,000 people annually.

Located at Sun Fair Building on Tai Po Road in Sham Shui Po, the Sham Shui Po East Community Living Room will serve subdivided flat residents in Nam Cheong North, Shek Kip Mei, Nam Cheong East, and Nam Cheong Central, addressing pressing community needs in the area.
