CGM Chairman Miao Jianmin Attends ASEAN-China-GCC Economic Forum in Malaysia

From May 25 to 29, Miao Jianmin, Chairman of China Merchants Group (CMG), visited Malaysia to attend the ASEAN-China-GCC Economic Forum.

During the inaugural ASEAN-China-GCC Summit, the ASEAN-China-GCC Trilateral Economic Forum was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Led by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs participated in the forum and related events. CMG and other enterprises engaged in extensive discussions with government and business leaders from ASEAN and GCC countries, exploring cooperation opportunities.

During his stay in Malaysia, Miao Jianmin met with Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and Group CEO of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS). Miao noted the fruitful cooperation between the two sides in LNG vessel investment and transportation, shipbuilding and repair, and logistics, hoping to expand collaboration in scope and depth. He emphasized promoting digitalization, green development, and smart solutions in shipping to jointly advance energy transition and sustainable development.

Taufik spoke highly of the close cooperation between PETRONAS and CMG in shipping, logistics, and shipbuilding. He also expressed hope for deeper engagement to explore opportunities in energy transition and AI-driven digital applications, further elevating the partnership.
