Miao Jianmin Visits Vietnam and Thailand

From November 3 to 7, 2025, Miao Jianmin, Chairman of China Merchants Group (CMG), led a delegation to Vietnam and Thailand.
In Vietnam, the delegation met with Wang Qun, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, and Tang Li, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. Miao expressed gratitude for the missions’ ongoing support and sought continued guidance for CMG’s local expansion. The delegation also held talks with leadership of VIMC and witnessed the signing of a cooperation memorandum between China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) and VIMC, and the inauguration of Sinotrans Container Lines (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. The delegation also met with leadership of SCIC.
In Thailand, the delegation called on Zhang Jianwei, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, extending thanks for the embassy’s support and discussing ways to enhance CMG’s regional footprint. The delegation also met with Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, Deputy Executive Chairman of TCC Group and CEO of Frasers Property. It had discussions with Churdchoo Panboonhom, Chairman of Nathalin Group, and Chansak, Vice President of PTT about expanding port and shipping cooperation to boost regional high-quality development. It also had-depth exchanges with Borvornsint Tanthuwanit, Chairman of NGOW HOCK GROUP. A meeting with Lim Choo Khin, President of The Thai Chinese Chamber of Commerce was also held to explore opportunities in logistics, shipping, ports, and finance, with both sides agreeing to prioritize win-win projects for tangible collaboration results.
