On August 21, Group President Hu Jianhua met with Yuan Jiajun, Deputy Secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Governor of Zhejiang Province, in Hangzhou.

Hu Jianhua briefly introduced China Merchants Group's recent business operations. He said that China Merchants Group had always been firmly serving national strategies and actively promoting regional integration. CMG had a solid foundation in critical areas such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Bohai Rim. The next step would be to make good use of the three regions' respective advantages to promote industrial upgrading, working in concert with the Belt and Road Initiative to form a new development pattern that allows the domestic and foreign markets to boost each other. Yuan Jiajun introduced the comprehensive strength of the Yangtze River Delta and Zhejiang Province in terms of industrial foundation, business environment, innovation capability and openness. Yuan Jiajun said that China Merchants Group was a leading conglomerate with two Fortune 500 companies. Zhejiang Province and China Merchants Group have a long history of cooperation, mutual understanding and trust. On this basis, it is necessary to jointly identify strategic projects that have significant support for national strategies and regional integrated development.
