On May 28, Group Chairman Miao Jianmin met with Sabrina Chao, Chairman of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), and Edward Liu, Chief Representative of China Office of International Chamber of Shipping (ICS). Miao jianmin expressed the hope to explore further cooperation with the Baltic and International Maritime Council and International Chamber of Shipping and suggested promoting Hong Kong's shipping industry by holding international industry conferences and cooperating in talent cultivation. Sabrina Chao said Hong Kong's maritime industry had a natural advantage. She believed that through the support of the HKSAR Government's policies and the concerted efforts of shipping companies, Hong Kong international shipping centre status's could be further consolidated and strengthened.  Edward Liu said that in 2019, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) established an office in Hong Kong, which was the first overseas office to be set up by the organisation in nearly 100 years since its establishment, reflecting the importance of Hong Kong to the international shipping industry.
