On January 13, the SASAC (State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council) held a video symposium on state-owned enterprises' regional comprehensive pilot reforms. Peng Huagang, Member of the CPC Committee of SASAC and Secretary General of SASAC, delivered a speech. Group President Hu Jianhua attended the symposium and made a speech as the only enterprise representative. Executive Vice President Li Baian participated in the meeting.

In his speech, Hu Jianhua said that China Merchants Group resolutely implemented the critical discourses and instructions on entering a new development stage, implementing the new development concept, and building a new development pattern. China Merchants Group took the development of Taiping Bay as a major initiative to promote the reform of state-owned enterprises and implement the national strategy of revitalising Northeast, as a new platform to deepen the cooperation between SOEs and local governments and optimise structure adjustment, and as an essential carrier to forge a  pillar of the nation and realise the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing. Peng Huagang gave full recognition and high praise to Hu Jianhua's creativity of combining the northeast revitalisation strategy with regional comprehensive pilot reforms. He said that the participation of China Merchants Group in Taiping Bay's development is a significant achievement beyond the expectation of SASAC and is vital for SASAC to promote the revitalisation of the old industrial bases in Northeast. SASAC would continue to support China Merchants Group for the development of Taiping Bay.
