CMG Ensures Rice Supply in Hong Kong

China Merchants Godown, Wharf & Transportation Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CMG in Hong Kong, stores nearly 50% of the city's rice stock.

The demand for rice has been sharply increasing due to the fifth wave of the pandemic. The godown company rapidly deployed manpower to increase rice supply, reaching as much as nearly 500 tons a day, which is three times more than the amount during normal days.

In order to ensure stable operation of warehouse, the company has formulated a 24-hour emergency plan that gained support from employees who expect to contribute to the stability of food supply in Hong Kong. “We were born and raised in Hong Kong and we want do something for citizens in needs. Hope everyone could get through the difficult time safely!" , they shared.
