On June 1, over 8,000 scholars and industry professionals from 86 countries and regions gathered in Vienna, Austria, for the annual "Olympics" of robotics – the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2026).

Under the theme "Robots for All," the conference featured more than 20 competitive challenges. Among them, the Lion Rock AI Lab, a subsidiary of China Merchants Advanced Technology Research Institute, secured first place in the Real-World Challenge of the LeHome Challenge 2026, an official ICRA competition.

Leveraging its proprietary Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model and robust systems engineering capabilities, the Lion Rock AI Lab overcame significant hurdles – including deformable object manipulation, simulation-to-real transfer, on-site hardware discrepancies, and long-tail edge cases. The team defeated formidable global rivals, including the winner of last year's BEHAVIOR-1K competition and the runner-up team Ilya, demonstrating the strength of Chinese embodied AI teams in real-world robotic manipulation tasks.
